Motorcycle Riding Women At The Present And Then

Written by freeauthor on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 in Other.

I recall when I was about 11 years old back in my old neighborhood. I was playing out side and I heard the roar of a Harley Davidson coming up the road. It sounded so good it caught my attention and I looked up right in time to see the woman riding leisurely stopping at the stop sign on the corner. Wow! Nice I thought to myself. I had never seen a woman riding her own bike before. In the past there were not a lot of women riders.

The woman was not very big at all, and as she went to take off from the stop sigh she spilled the motorcycle. It was more like she dumped the clutch; lost her footing and she dropped the bike. Well visualize, never seeing a Harley riding women before and then seeing her crash the bike. It was quite the display.

I have to confess, she had a set. She started cussing and swearing and I believe at one time she even kicked the fallen bike. I think she was quite self-conscious. She didn’t miss a beat though, she to it and she picked that Motorcycle up and hopped back on it an away she went.

Let’s move ahead in time nearly forty years. Though it took near to four decades, women have come to the understanding that motorcycling is not just for men. They have come to terms with their uncertainties and the label that the bitch rides in back. More and more you can glance at any main crossroads and observe women riders.

Its not just miniature girly girl 250 cc motorcycles these women are riding, they are riding full-size big girl bikes, motorbikes like Harley Davidson Sportsters, Softails and full dressers. They can also beseen riding Metric motorbikes like 1500 cc Kawasaki’s, Yamaha’s and Hondas. Even some brave few; ride super fast Sports bikes formally known as crotch rockets.

Just go to any motorcycle meeting and have a fast glimpse all-around. I’ll bet, on any particular day about 30% of the riders there will be women riding their own motorcycle.

It isn’t just that women motorcycle riders have had an arousing, a coming out of sorts. It’s that they are organizing as well. It was accustomed to be that the motorcycle clubs were a male dominated meeting. Motorcycle organizations were made up of men that drove the motorcycle and their biker mamas that rode on the back. Well all that has changed now that women have started to get off the back and ride their individual motorbikes.

Women’s motorcycle organizations: groups and Associations are springing up every where. If you have a notebook with access to the Internet, go on line and investigate women riders, women bike organizations or women bike riders groups. You will locate thousands of motorcycle groups, clubs and organizations that are women Rider exclusive and that only consent to other women to join.

I guess it was more or less time… Being a biker of some 36 years, I don’t have any hard feelings about this feminine bike uprising. I say kudos it’s about time. Although, I treasured the day’s that I had my wife on the back and she had her arms and legs closely wrapped about me, I am loving it just as much riding alone with my Harley girl riding right next to me.

The Costs We Forget About When Owning a Car

Written by man on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 in Other.

The majority of prospective car buyers only consider the upfront cost of purchasing a new vehicle. They judge the deal based only on the amount of money they pay before driving their new car off the dealership lot. Studies have indicated that the initial investment can be often times misleading. Over the course of several years, a seemingly inexpensive automobile can end up costing far more than a higher-priced model.

Here we will explain four tips that can impact your wallet in terms of owning a car. When you eventually decide to purchase a new model, keep these factors in mind.

Tip 1 - Fuel Efficiency

A lot of drivers would be surprised by the variance in gas expenses for different models over five years. You can save literally thousands of dollars by driving a 4 cylinder car rather than a fuel guzzling SUV. To determine how much you’ll be spending on gas, assume that you’ll be driving 12,000 miles each year. You’ll also need to make an assumption regarding where you think fuel prices will be during the next five years.

Tip 2 - Insurance Premiums

Many motorists believe that their insurance premiums are based solely upon their driving record. In truth, most insurance providers also take into account the type of car you’re driving. For example, the premiums to insure a red sports car will likely be higher than those for a family sedan. Call your insurance agent prior to purchasing a new vehicle. He should be able to tell you which models will cost more to insure.

Tip 3 - Regular Maintenance And Repairs

This is one of the hidden expenses of owning an automobile. The fact is, when somebody visits a dealership lot, the last thing they’re thinking about is how much they’ll need to pay for repairs. Maintaining and repairing your car is inevitable. The older it gets, the higher the likelihood that car parts and systems will fail. The important thing to realize is that certain models are more expensive to repair than others. And while your warranty will cover the first few years, it won’t last forever. Take into account that you can save money on car repairs by utilizing used auto parts which are not only cheaper, but help save the environment

Tip 4 - Depreciation

Finally, we come to the largest expense of all: depreciation. Most people understand that automobiles depreciate. But, more than a few would be surprised to discover how much, how quickly, and the disparity between different models.

It is estimated that vehicles lose more than half their value during their first five years. Some models lose their value more quickly than others based on available inventories, popularity, and even the cash incentives offered by automakers and dealerships.

When you decide to purchase a new car, consider the initial price in the context of how much it will actually cost to own the vehicle. In other words, don’t be swayed simple because of a low sticker price. Please take into account the tips listed above so that you will be happy and content with your purchase for the long haul.

Ways In Which The Car-Buying Market Is Changing

Written by man on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 in Other.

The roiling economy has left indelible marks on the automotive industry. Automakers and dealerships, struggling to move their inventories, have been forced to deal with tighter credit terms, a smaller pool of prospective car buyers, and other difficult circumstances. For the savvy auto shopper, that can translate into a world of opportunity. As dealers become more motivated to extend generous terms to consumers, buyers can uncover surprisingly attractive bargains.

Below, we’ll explore 3 ways in which the auto industry is changing. I’ll describe how each of these changes affects the deals that are available to buyers who are alert, informed, and prepared.

#1 - Automakers Have Excess Inventories

Sales of new cars, trucks, and SUVs have been plummeting for the past year. Because of this, auto dealerships have a back lot of cars that are hard to sell. Also, imports are backed up at shipyards and auto dealerships lots are full and can’t accept new deliveries.

The auto makers market is suffering from an over supply of vehicle, resulting in lover prices. If you are int he market for a new automobile, now it a great time to negotiate favorable loan terms. Generous rebates, low-interest financing, and other incentives are creating a rare buyer’s market.

#2 - Credit Is Tight, But Only For Some

One of the circumstances that has had a significant impact on the automotive industry is the tightening of credit. Banks are wary of extending auto loans to subprime borrowers. If your credit score is dismal, you’ll find it difficult to secure financing. However, if your score is above 700, many banks and dealerships will be happy to offer an auto loan with a competitive interest rate.

In fact, the dwindling pool of prospective buyers with good credit has become more valuable than ever to automakers and car dealerships. Many of them are willing to offer fantastic incentives in addition to a low rate.

#3 - Lease Payments Are Increasing

The lease market has undergone a dramatic change over the past year. Long ago, you could lease a vehicle with monthly payments far below what you would pay to own the same model. Basically, you can now drive off the lot in a vehicle you previously could not afford. Today, most car manufacturers have forced a substantial increase in lease payments.

The reason is due to the glut of inventory. When vehicles come off their leases, dealers are unable to move them off their lots at profitable prices. The increase in monthly lease payments compensate them for the lost revenue. An unexpected corollary is that you can uncover great used car bargains by shopping the vehicles which have recently come off their leases.

The automotive industry will continue adapting to the rough economic times ahead. For savvy buyers, that means exciting bargains in the new and used car markets.

There are a Huge amount of Nice Cars on the Road

Written by man on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 in Other.

While I was driving to work the other morning I got stuck in a traffic jam on the motor way, it was quite a lengthy one and I did begin to get slightly bored. After a while I glanced over to the other side of the carriageway, to my astonishment for at least 30 minutes every car that went pass was so nice. There I was in my heap of junk while every one else was driving tremendous cars. I mean where to they find the resources?

After briefly thinking for a while I have come to the decision that there are only two ways of getting these brand new vehicles, please see below.

1) They buy vehicles on finance, vehicles that they literally cannot afford, and this is really one of the main reasons that the economy is suffering. People go and get the best vehicles around and they literally cannot keep up with the monthly payments that they commited themselves too for so long.
2) In my opinion this is how a lot of people are getting their vehicles and it is the best possible way, something that could in fact overtake buying vehicles is contract hire. You just pay a monthly fixed rate for a new gleaming car and you do not have to worry about all of the repair costs. When your vehicle contract has come to an end you just hand back the keys and get to choose a new modern car.

To be honest the second option sounds so interesting that I might just go a lease a ford tomorrow.

Do you actually want to lease a BMW

Bentley Athens has moved into its new showroom in the northern suburbs of the Greek capital. This is what our Bentley contact told us recently. Marking three years of a very successful presence in Greece, Bentley Athens has moved into its impressive new home, right on the Attiki Odos, Athens’ peripheral motorway.

The new and spacious showroom, situated in the northern suburbs of Athens, the ‘natural habitat’ of the majority of its clientele, offers customers a fresh view of the entire Bentley range, including selected pre-owned models, in an environment befitting the British luxury marque.

The past years have been very profitable for Bentley Athens with 46 cars sold and an 8% market share in the local high luxury segment.

The Service department, has been equally successful; over 120 cars - also a number of pre-2003 Rolls-Royces - have visited its state-of-the-art workshop which remains at its present site, but is now only 15 minutes (and a few exits) away from the new showroom, on the same main thoroughfare.

“The new Bentley Athens dealership will no doubt, prove to be a stepping stone in boosting sales and reinforcing Bentley Motors’ presence in Greece”, commented Michael Mayer, Regional Director for Europe and UK of Bentley Motors.

Bentley Athens can be found from april on at 21, A. Papandreou & Eratous street in 15124 Maroussi, Athens, Greece. Bentley Athens’ webpage is at www.bentley.gr.

Understanding Homemade Bio-Diesel

Written by man on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 in Other.

When you have been driving for a period of time, you may have observed that the fuel costs is eating a massive fraction of your monthly revenue. Will not it be ideal if you can cut down on the petrol? So how can you do so? All you want is to use Homemade Biodiesel.

What is Biodiesel?

First, what’s Biodiesel? Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that burns cleanly. It’s converted from plant oil. It is a non-petroleum based diesel fuel. Do not be confused, it is not not the same as straight vegetable oil.

Biodiesel is available commercially and can be discovered in many gas kiosks in USA. The price flutuates a little but it is understood to be less expensive than the ordinary petrol costs.

Who will benefit the most?

Most industrial vehicles that use diesel can find that Biodiesel is more economical. Business owners who owns a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles should seriously think over trying out Biodiesel as it will help them to reduce the overall expenses.

Can I benefit from it?

Will folks like you and me benefit from it? You can get benefits from it by using Homemade Biodiesel. It is possible to create your own Biodiesel at home, by changing unwanted plant oil. There are two ways to do it: You can purchase a Biodiesel processor to prepare Homemade Biodiesel with ease. Oor you can handle Biodiesel manually. Don’t worry, it is not hard to build your own Homemade Biodiesel. The method is just more hands-on and takes a touch longer time.

I would recommend that you commence with hands-on approach of creating Homemade Biodiesel, try it out in your own vehicle . Once it is proved to run well for your automobile you can then consider buying a Biodiesel Processer. The rationale is that a Biodiesel Processor tends to be quite expensive and you will not wish to gamble away money on it.

Will folks like you and me gain advantage from it? You can get benefits from it by trying Homemade Biodiesel. It is feasible to make Biodiesel at home, by changing waste vegetable oil. There are two methods to do it: You can buy a Biodiesel processor to process Homemade Biodiesel with ease. Oor you can prepare Biodiesel manually by youself. I would recommend that you start with hands-on approach of creating Homemade Biodiesel, try it in your own vehicle . The reason is that a Biodiesel Processor is sort of costly and you will not wish to squander money on it first.

Window Cleaning Tips for Cleaner Windows

Written by man on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 in Other.

At first glance, window cleaning seems easy enough of a job to do.You can ask any young kid to clean your windows, for pay, and watch them jump at the chance. The problem however, is that they will only do this once before they come to tell you that they don’t ever want to do that again. Now the challenge when cleaning the windows is not the actual work involved, it’s how and when you do it, and what tools you are going to use.  Take it from my years as a San Diego Window cleaning company, if you want someone to enjoy cleaning your windows, or if you want to do it yourself, keep some of these tips below in mind.

If you wash your windows when the sun is directly on them, you will soon realize that this makes ugly streaks that don’t seem to go away no matter how many times you clean them! It is frustrating, but knowing something as simple as when to wash them like when the sun passes by and is not shining on the window, or when it is so hot, can you save you a lot of time and frustration.

Some San Diego window washing tips that take the frustration and hassle out of window cleaning are:

The method you hold you’re squeegee counts!

Now when you are holding the squeegee, be sure that the angle is correct and it is in the directino of the water flow. If the water is running down to your feet, move the squeegee sideways causing the water being squeegeed to go down to the part you haven’t cleaned yet. For example, if you are on the roof and the down angle is above you, squeegee forward so you can cause the water to flow to the part not yet squeegeed. If you go against the flow water will build up and flow out the sides of the squeegee causing streaks.

The wiping of the blade is important!

Some people try to squeegee the whole window one stroke at a time without wiping the blade until the end. This never has worked well and it will cause a streak by the water that is left on the blade. Every time you go to get that (which is twice in the same spot essentially) you cause another streak.Wiping after each stroke the blade will avoid this problem completelyand get the window cleaned much faster without retracing steps.

Overlap the streaks

After each stroke you should overlap the top of the next stroke (about an inch into the dry area) and make your next stroke. If you are pointing the squeegee to make the water fall downward to the part of the window that is wet and you are drying the blade after every stroke, you won’t make
an additional streak that you have to go back over. Never squeegee right where the line is, this can make a splash into the dry area and is definitely counter productive.

Use plenty of water

If you don’t use enough water you will have a hard time making perfect frictionless strokes with the squeegee. be generous with your water use and always if you can, use sideway strokes on the water that is dripping down towards the wet part of the glass.

So there you have it.  Some easy to apply San Diego window cleaning tips for all you do it your selfers.Follow these simple pieces of advice and you will be happy with how your windows turn out.

How To Get out of Speeding Offences

Written by man on Friday, June 19th, 2009 in Other.

When you have been caught by a speeding offences, sometimes the most common thing to do is to look at the reasons behind the speeding, and to see if you might be able to have a court take some of them into consideration. When it comes to traffic offences, a good number of them will require you to go to the court, thus it means that you can say your side of the history and see whether you can obtain a reduction of your punishment. Of course, there aren’t going to be a lot of situations in which you’ll be able to get a reduction, but it is important for you to think about the various excuses you might have for speeding offences in order to see if any of them would qualify you for a reduction in the fines or the problems that you  might have.

If you were subjected to a constraint outside, or running late, or even if you had a family member in difficulty, you could be able to have a defense. If this happens, then you may have the opportunity to articulate why you were guilty. These are defenses for speeding in which you talk about the fact that you are actually guilty, but that you had a reason for it. this means that if you can explain the rationale for the speeding, and there is just cause for doing so, then there is a case for a lesser punishment. If you have mitigating circumstances, then you will have the opportunity to explain this in the court. If you agree to the fixed penalty notice, then this is the end of the matter and you can not do this. Please know that in these situations, your fate is going to be entirely up to the court – whether or not your story is believed, and whether or not they feel as if you should be given a lesser punishment. If the court does believe that you had a reason to be speeding, they might lessen your punishment, but it has been shown that this is not usually the case.

The court does not take kindly to you blaming other divers for your speeding offences. If you claim that you sped up because you wanted to widen the gap between you and another automobile, the courts will tell you that in that situation, the best thing to do would be to slow down or move to another lane so the automobile could pass you instead of trying to get away from it. Therefore, this usually will not hold up in court. There are, of course, some exceptions. if you can prove that you had to speed for your own safety, or for another persons, this may be grounds for the court to be lenient on you.

If your argument is that you were caught speeding in a 30 mph zone, and you did not see a sign for that zone, and it was not a clearly residential area, you might feel that you have an argument. However, there is no law that states a 30 mph speed limit must be posted. It only needs to be posted when you are entering that speed limit from another speed limit, which means that if the speed limit has stayed constant, you should know it is 30 mph because that is the speed limit in built up areas. If you can prove there were no notices informing you that the speed limit had changed, then you have an argument. you will probably find that this defense does not hold up.

Although people challenge the fact that they weren’t warned about the speeding cameras being in place, and that the police have a campaign for speeding offences, in reality the highway code states the speeding limits. However, it important to note that while many police units do let citizens know that a speed camera is in use, it is not the law that they have to. Therefore, they do not need to post that there are going to be speed cameras, and they can catch you speeding if they do. It is important to note that the police have the right to gather evidence in areas where motorists are known to speed, and it is not something that they have to do. In the majority of cases the police will advertise that they are monitoring traffic, however do not take this as gospel as the police are under no obligation to inform you they are monitoting speeding offences.

Another argument that will not work is the argument that you did not see a mobile van, and therefore it must have been hidden, so the ticket is not legal. Although many police play fair and identify the mobile vans used to catch speeders, there is no obligation for them to actually do so, which means that they might catch you without you knowing it.

If you want to claim that you did not see the road signs because they were covered by trees or obstructed, you might be able to try this defense. However, may courts will say that it is important for you to know the speed limit, even if you cannot see the sign, and that you should take care to understand what various speed limits are.
