Ain’t she just beautiful. The new Maserati GranTurismo MC will be officially unveiled during the FIA GT “Press Days” at the Paul Ricard circuit. This new Maserati GranTurismo is an offshoot of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Concept introduced last September in Monza and based on the S road version, with electro-actuated gearbox system.

People could aready acquintance with the new Maserati on 17 and 18 March when it participated in the “Balance of performance”, two days of practices organized by SRO at the Paul Ricard circuit in order to analyze and balance the performance of the models that will be racing in the GT4 European Cup.

A Maserati GranTurismo MC entered by a private team is to participate in some GT4 European Cup events during the second half of this season.

A limited series of the Maserati GranTurismo MC produced for gentlemen drivers who wish to race in the 2010 GT4 European Cup and the national series, will be on sale as of October 2009. The price is about 135,000 Euro + VAT. Sales directly by Maserati Corse.

In 2010 Maserati intends to once again organize a European single-make cup race. The cars racing this Cup naturally present specifications that will set them apart from the Maserati GT4-version Maserati GranTurismo MCs.

Maserati chose to create a model with GT4 features because GT4 is the category with the closest links to production models. There is a niche of GranTurismo road car owners who love racing and want to be able to test their mettle on a track driving a racing version of the same model they own.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC is the result of a development work carried out during many test sessions that started in the Summer of 2008.

Various drivers have taken turns developing the Maserati GranTurismo MC Concept from which the Maserati GranTurismo MC stemmed.  With their strong professional and racing background, each and every one of them contributed to the creation of the final version.

The predominant part of the fine-tuning work was conducted by Andrea Bertolini, official Maserati tester as well as incumbent FIA GT Champion at the wheel of the MC12.

Bertolini worked together with Thomas Cremonini, Maserati series production tester, and Vitaphone Racing Team teammate Michael Bartels, also 2008 FIA GT champion.

During the most recent tests, the Maserati GranTurismo MC with GT4 specs was also tested by former F.1 racer Ivan Capelli.

Kia Motors today announced that its cee’d ranked in first place in the Driver Power’s Compact Family category to beat out Volkswagen, Toyota, Fiat and other notable competitors in the segment. Driver Power is Auto Express’s car owner reliability and satisfaction survey which presents the frank and honest views of drivers in the UK.

“The fact that the Kia cee’d beat the Volkswagen Golf is one of the most significant results in Driver Power’s history,” said David Johns, Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express, on announcing the debut performance of the Kia cee’d in the independent Driver Power survey.

In its Driver Power debut, cee’d jumped straight into the top ten and is ranked as the 6th best model overall.  Highest ranked in the C-segment class, Kia cee’d’s closest rival, the Volkswagen Golf, found itself in 22nd place overall.

David Johns added, “Kia’s class-topping result in Driver Power is proof of how far its cars have come in terms of quality and reliability, as well as image.”  The cee’d result is underlined by an improved performance in the manufacturer’s ranking which sees Kia ranked as 12th overall this year, a jump of two places on last year’s result.

The independent annual Driver Power survey was carried out by Auto Express, in conjunction with the Daily Telegraph, and measured the views of over 21,400 new car drivers across the UK.The cars they drive are scrutinised and scored on their performance in a couple of key areas, including running costs, practicality, build quality, reliability and more.

Paul Philpott, Managing Director, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., said, “What a debut!Kia has come a long way and these results underline our trust in the design, quality and value of our products.  But don’t take our word, our customers are doing the talking through the Driver Power survey.

“Yes, you can pay more for a Volkswagen Golf, but these results ask why.The Kia cee’d has dynamic design, high build quality and frugal engines, all backed by a seven-year 100,000 mile warranty and all for much less.”

I Want A Used Audi TT

Written by man on Sunday, May 31st, 2009 in Other.

The Audi TT has been hailed as the ultimate cross between a road car and a sports car. The Audi TT combines all the practicality of a beautiful road car with all the performance of a sports car. It is truly one of the best cars to be released in recent memory and has been treated as such. Critics and the public alike have fallen in love with the Audi TT’s suave styling and fearsome 2.0 Litre engine under the bonnet. It is possible to find these magnificent cars for bargain prices by looking for an ex demonstrator Used Audi.

Used Audi cars are the perfect compromise for those amongst us who want a luxury car but can’t afford the astronomical price tags. During these difficult financial times, more and more people are looking for a bargain and the Used Car market is where you are likely to find them. The best tactic when buying a used car is to choose a manufacturer who guarantee reliability, performance and style; step forward Audi and take a bow. I bought a Used Audi from Sytner and have been extremely pleased with the car so far. I would recommend Used Audis to anyone looking for a great car at a vastly discounted price.

My Used Audi TT literally cost a fraction of the recommended retail price and had only 5000 miles on the clock. Due to the state of the current car market, new cars depreciate in value massively as soon as you drive them away from the dealership's forecourt. This is why you should take advantage of the dealers by buying a Used Audi today. I have been a very happy customer for over 7 months now and doubt I will invest in any other car brands again. My Used Audi TT has got the power and precision of a car double its value and I think it was the bargain of the century.

Choosing the Right Car For You And Your Family

Written by man on Sunday, May 31st, 2009 in Other.

When you chose your first car, you probably looked first at things like how cool the car was and how much you would love to drive it. Then you looked at the price, and finally you chose what you could actually afford and attempted to source the best model in your price range.

Picking the best car for the family is not that different from how you picked that first car. Yes, you’ve probably had several cars. And okay, you may now have a somewhat higher budget. But the fact is, with the money you do have available, you need to buy the best car for your family.

When buying a car, the first thing to decide on is its main use. If this will be the “second car” and not everyone in the familly will normally ride in it, the car probably doesn’t need to be as large or have as many family oriented features.

Next, who’s going to get the most use out of the car? The primary driver should find the car comfortable, and that includes how the car drives, how the seats feel, where the controls are located, how they are built and whether the mirrors and controls are adjustable to the main driver’s needs.

The next thing to consider is not what most people think of, but it is very important. You should check that the trunk has a large opening and that it’s sizeable enough for your needs. Some cars that have big trunks will not take large objects in the trunk because the opening is too narrow.

You also need to decide on how many doors you need. If more than two people usually ride in the car, four doors are almost a necessity, especially as kids grow. It can become a very big pain to get people in and out of the back of a two-door car.

How roomy the seats are goes along with the number of doors, but be sure to check that the seating room reflects actual adults. Even if your kids are small now you want to make sure that as they grow, there is room for everyone in the car without scrunching.

Mileage is also a consideration, as a number of smaller cars that give good mileage may perhaps be  too small for your family. However, as many companies are beginning to concentrate more on mileage, you may come across a nice van or sedan that will suit your family and get better mileage than your old car gives.

In the end, choosing a car is a very personal decision that you and your family should take together. The foremost thing is that you should feel that you have bought a car within your budget, that both you and your family can be comfortable in and that will provide you years of service.

After all, buying a car is quite a long-term commitment, and you need to be happy with your purchase for the life of the car. Simply taking the time to consider your options and determine what you really need lets you enjoy your car long after that new-car aroma fades away.

You Can Own An Audi TT For A Discount Price

Written by man on Saturday, May 30th, 2009 in Other.

Every now and then certain cars capture the public’s collective imagination and create a stir upon their release. Everybody wants one, but due to the exclusivity, not everybody can have one. So it stands to reason that these particular cars transform into highly desirable models and can create a rather considerable amount of jealousy and envy with neighbours and colleagues. The car I speak of is the superb Audi TT.

Despite only having a brief tenure on the British roads so far, the Audi TT has quickly become the car of choice for executives and other professionals, highlighting its impressive looks and performance. The Audi TT houses a 3.2 Litre V6 engine, which when even pushed slightly provides the driver with the kind of aggressive growl and ‘oomph’ that would impress even the staunchest critic.

The design of the Audi TT is what has really grabbed the attention of the critics and public alike. It combines the sexy sleek lines you would expect from a high-range saloon, combined with the dynamics of sportier vehicles. The Audi TT has definitely been designed for those with more refined tastes.

The best news is that you can get an ex-demo Audi TT for a fraction of its new recommended retail price by visiting your local Audi Dealer. It is possible to find Used Audi TT’s that have only 3,000 miles on the clock for unbelievably reasonable prices. In some cases it is possible to see huge discounts as much as a thirty-three percent slashed off the regular new price.

The ex-demo Used Audi vehicles have been looked after by the respective dealerships and have probably only done cautious test drives, so you can be sure that the model you take home will have been well looked after and have an impeccable service history.

A Used Audi TT is the perfect way to find an excellent car at a relatively low price. The design is perfect, the engineering is perfect. The Audi TT is driving perfection.

Written by man on Saturday, May 30th, 2009 in Other.

When you catch sight of pure bright white headlights as your driving along at night, you know that either you’re looking a new car or someone who has made the switch over from standard to LED lights. These light have seeing exponential sales recently and are more popular than they have ever been. But why are these lights considered so much better?

Firstly, a far superior quality of light is produced which helps driving. Wolfgand Huhn, Audi’s lighting exert said recently “everyone who has seen these lights in action is not only astonished by the excellent output but also thrilled with the homogenous distribution of light and the agreeable, daylight-esque colour of the light.”

The LEDs have a far superior efficiency rating that conventional lights.  The average energy consumption of the lights in a car using normal bulbs is around 200w while a car fitted with the new LED obstruction light will only demand around 15watt of power. This essentially means that your battery gets a bit of a break and fuel usage can actually drop. This also leads to to a reduction the emissions of CO2 and will help you do your bit for the environment.Your finances are likely to benefit too from the LED lights as not only are you saving money on fuel but also you’re likely to need never change the bulbs.

Lastly, these revolutionary lights will improve driver safety. The higher quality of light makes seeing potential obstacles easier and the lights actually react up to 12 times faster than older incandescent bulbs. The lights will not let you down when it matters because their durability makes bulb failure very rare indeed. These lights are very recently seeing their benefits multiplied as they begin to used not only for high and low beams but also for dashboard displays, indicator lights and licence plate illuminators.

Enjoy the many advantages of finding a teardrop camper

Written by man on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 in Other.

The early years of the teardrop camper

Teardrop campers were once small camper trailers with the barest necessities for a weekend trip. These trailers were first designed in the 1930s by Louis Rogers to use for his honeymoon. The simple camper caught on quickly because they were easy to pull, even with a small vehicle. While there have been changes to the design of the teardrop camper over the years the streamlined exterior look is still the same. These days new teardrop campers are made using improved processes and materials. Originally the teardrop camper was designed to accommodate two people sleeping inside. On the exterior of the camper there is a raise up deck lid is used to store kitchen supplies, ice box, and the stove.

The camper also included a private dressing area outside the entry door. Eventaully running water was added to the kitchenette with a pressurized water tank. Over time room was made for an interior dressing area as well as a chemical toilet. The largest improvement to the teardrop camper was changing the exterior shell to fiberglass. These days you can find several styles of teardrop campers available.

There are even new models designed for off road use. There are also many different variations of body length, width, and size. You will also have many different options when it comes to the design of your sleeping space and kitchenette. The latest models of teardrop campers will have improved entry doors and sliding windows with screens for improved ventilation.

Some of the more luxurious models will also have fancy stereo systems, lights in the rear kitchenette and a lock down cover for your stove. Some of the teardrop campers that you can buy nowadays will also have a kitchen table and couch to bunk bed conversions.

Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Written by man on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 in Other.

Automobiles designed on a combination between traditional propulsion means and alternative energy sources are classified as hybrid electric vehicles most of the time. The manufacturing of such a mixed engine system is justified by the efficiency in terms of fuel consume, in comparison with regular cars. Then, batteries are just used for support, and limited propulsion needs, without requiring any recharging due to the storage and energy renewal system.

Modern times have seen the mass production of hybrid electric vehicles coming from a number of well known car manufacturers. The reasons for producing hybrid electric vehicles are manifold. Whether there is a genuine interest in saving energy and not using the planet’s energetic sources, or a smart and “caring” way to attract buyers and thus sell more cars, one cannot be certain. There are three main ways that allow current hybrid electric vehicles to reduce gas consumtion. First, they lower the amount of wasted energy during idle or low input (turning off the ICE); secondly, they collect waste energy (regenerative braking), and thirdly, they reduce the size and power of the ICE and inefficiencies generated by under-utilization.

The batteries that supply the electric motor get charged when you drive around, thus preventing the input necessities. Some hybrid electric vehicles use the internal combustion engine (ICE) to create electricity by spinning an electrical generator (quite often this is a motor-generator) to directly supply the hybrid engine that drives the vehicle or to recharge the battery. Many of the existing hybrid electric vehicles’ capability is to reduce idle emissions by shutting down the internal combustion engine at idle status and restarting it when necessary (this is a start-stop system). The engines of the hybrid electric vehicles are smaller than those of non-hybrid petroleum fuel vehicles. These engines may work at various speeds, thus generating more efficiency.

The making of the hybrid car started in the late 1990s and the first ones came from Honda (Honda Insight) and Toyota (Toyota Prius). Even since the beginnings of hybrid electric vehicles they have become widely available to the buyers. The future of hybrid electric vehicles is definitely bright, and this is the forecast by some automobile makers who consider hybrid electric vehicles a core segment of the automotive market of the future.

Charity Ride Outs

Written by freeauthor on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 in Other.

During these tough economic times, not only are individuals suffering, but so are charities which rely on donor generosity. Even more so, it is the institutions behind the charities which are having a hard time with their incomes dwindling. So they have had to come up with unconventional ways to continue fund raising. One of the ways has been to go to the motorcycle and biker community.

It may strike some people as odd, but the biker community is surprisingly generous. There is a true sense of brotherhood among bikers and they are willing to show support for causes they believe in. This has not been lost on some of the top charities in the country and they have started their own motorcycle charity motorcycle charity rides.

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) is one such foundation to rely on financial support of the motorcycle community. Most of the money raised for the PBTF comes from their motorcycle charity are, the Ride for Kids®.

When the PBTF was created in 1991, the diagnosis of a brain tumor was virtually a death sentence for a child. Because there was very little research being done into the disease, most treatments were ineffective or harsh, and most children did not survive to adulthood.

The PBTF has worked hard to change that reality. Researchers are developing new therapies that extend the lives of children, and they believe that their work will ultimately lead to a cure for this most devastating of childhood cancers. They rely on the members of their distinguished Scientific Advisory Board to help them evaluate the best funding opportunities in the brain tumor arena.

As the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research, they’re dedicated to not only eradicating this disease, but to providing support to families. Their educational resources deliver comfort and hope to families in need of information, and their college scholarship program gives brain tumor survivors a boost for the future.

The Ride for Kids® is held in 39 cities across the United States. Approximately 25,000 riders per year participate in their biker charity biker charity rides.

The motorcycling community’s generous support enabled the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) to increase its medical research funding commitments by $8.35 million in 2008. The majority of the funding came from the Ride for Kids® program, now in its 26th year of championing childhood brain tumor research.

The grants consist of an additional $6 million to the PBTF Institute at Duke University; $1 million to the PBTF Institute at the University of California San Francisco and $1 million to PBTF Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada; $250,000 to Dr. Gregory Shackleford at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; and $100,000 to Dr. Yuri Tabori at the Hospital for Sick Children.

The PBTF’s research institute program concluded its sixth year of funding in 2008. Overall, the foundation has funded more than 50 research institutions in the United States and other countries.
